Olympic Torch Relay - Saturday 19th May 2012.
The start of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay begins on Saturday 19th May. To mark this special event, the children are going to get creative, making decorative torches. Outdoor fun run sessions are also being organised for the children.
The Queen's Diamond Jubilee - Tuesday 5th June 2012
The Queen's Diamond Jubilee takes place on Tuesday 5th June 2012. Due to the extra bank holiday, we will be holding a Royal Garden Party for all children to participate in, on Wednesday 6th June.
We will be providing a traditional English Buffet for lunch outdoors (weather permitting) followed by games and activities in the afternoon. All the staff and the children are invited to come to the Nursery dressed in Red, White and Blue for the occasion. We have also been making flags and bunting to decorate the Nursery with, to make the occasion extra special for the children
Father's Day - Sunday 17th June 2012.
Father's Day takes place on Sunday 17th June this year. To mark the day, the children will be creating cards and pictures for all their fathers.
Dharma Day - Tuesday 3rd July 2012.
In July, we will be celebrating Dharma Day, a festival that marks the beginning of Buddha's teaching. This Hindu celebration is usually marked with readings from the Buddhist scriptures and is an opportunity to reflect on there content.
Eid - August 2012
We will be celebrating Eid this August. But as the day is dependant on the moon, we cannot provide an exact date just yet
Navratri (Nine Nights) - Friday 28th September 2012
Navratri will be taking place on Friday 28th September 2012. This is a Hindu occasion celebrated over nine days, symbolizing the triumph of Good over Evil.
Jeans for Genes Day - Sunday 7th October 2012
Jeans for Genes Day raises money for Genetic Disorders UK, a charity that aims to change the world for children with genetic disorders. As Jeans for Genes day falls on a Sunday, the children will be able to wear their jeans on Friday 5th October 2012 to acknowledge the day and raise money for charity!
Children in Need - Saturday 17th November 2012
Children in Need takes place on Saturday 17th November this year. We will be arranging plenty of activities to mark the day
